I sit thinking, wondering what moves in my heart — Do I detect love? I think I do, that will get us through when hate may threaten us. Joy, do I detect joy? I think I do that will get us through when sorrows threaten to overwhelm us. Patience and long-suffering? I think I do when it seems we have waited so long and wish to give up patience and long-suffering will come to us. Kindness? I think I do, when our hearts are hardening kindness will appear as a flower in the concrete.
