Winter Lantern Haiku
The full moon lantern
streaming through the willow tree
bows low over the snow,
Whispers of snowflakes,
sifting down through the branches
My lonely footsteps,
descending on the silence,
drift in slow echoes
I love all your gorgeous pictures, but my favorite by far is the one of your beautiful face obscured by your gorgeous, wild nature-child hair adorned with magic snowflakes, freshly fallen from the heavens like little diamonds finding you and saying you are the fairy princess.
Ahhh, a blizzard — a climate-certified excuse to flake on plans. (Kidding! Mostly.) Tonight I have a friend’s birthday party, but I’ll be bringing the Johnny Walker I received as an employee holiday gift that I recently re-discovered after cleaning out my cube cabinets. I’m also going to bike over, so no MTA costs. A free Friday!
