Unfortunately over reliance on spellcheck is part of the problem… I’ve seen it turn sentences by under-confident writers into grammar hash, and the writers have no clue what the problem is because spell check told them it was correct.
I agree that this is the direction we’re headed, I think you’re just looking father down the road than the technology has progressed yet not as far as it will ultimately go. Good news on the Grammarly Funding, seems they both fit so well together, Grammarly is all about the written word and proper structure, would be a great tool to use within Medium. As mentioned, Currently I will author content within the Grammarly online app and paste into Medium, then add graphics and such.
I must not have used the app nearly as much as I thought. Granted, I probably use Medium more through the web interface, then the phone then the tablet, although I’m more likely to read on the tablet, find content on the phone and compose in the browser on a desktop or laptop where I have a full-sized keyboard.
