Then what are we learning? — We can only know the realities that we have experienced. But we can experience them in many ways. We can experience them firsthand, or through biographies, novels, movies and TV shows. If they are convincing to us, then they are real to us. And as we follow the adventures of the main protagonists, we learn the lessons of their lives along with them. We have heard it said that Life is a classroom. We have also heard the concept that our experiences may be illusions. We get this statement from Advaita Vedanta, A Course in Miracles, the holodeck on Star Trek and The Matrix.
