When I saw the poster, before I read what you wrote, I thought the same thing. Giving birth & labor. It’s funny — I’ve worked with engineering teams for over a decade, but it never struck me that the word push really is so clearly a birth analogy. I completely separated it in my mind. Thanks for this little straight line linking the two. It could make future pushes feel more positive for me, I think.
