What is Google tag manger?

Google tag manager is a tagging system to manage all your tags at one place. Instead of placing multiple tracking & marketing tags (Analytics, Facebook, AdWords, etc.) on your website, you can place just one GTM tag and manage all other tags in the GTM.

How to Create your Account in Google Tag Manager

To use the tag manager, you need to create your account in google tag manger. Sign in to your google account and go to https://tagmanager.google.com/

Click Create Account on the top right-hand side

Enter account details.

Accept terms and conditions.

You will be taken to your container dashboard where you will see the installation codes.

Now all you need to do is install the codes in the head and body sections of your website.

How to Add the Google tag manager Code to Your WordPress Site?

If you are using WordPress, it should be easy. Most WordPress themes give you option to easily place head and body codes by accessing the theme option from the WordPress dashboard.

The second method is using a WordPress plugin for installing the code. Some plugins options are:

How to Delete a Tag in Google Tag Manager

From the menu on your left-hand side, click Tags

All created tags will load.

Select the tag you want to delete.

On the new screen, click three dots on the top right-hand side.

Hit delete.

Submit the new version.

How do You Delete the Old Versions?

From the left-hand side top menu, select versions.

All versions will load.

Click the three dots in front of the version you want to delete

Click delete.

How to Delete a Container in Google Tag Manager?

Visit your tag manager

Click All accounts>Account’s page

Or
Simply click the back arrow. It will take you to the accounts page where all the containers will be listed

Click three dots in the container you want to delete.

Select container settings.

Click three dots on the top right-hand side.

Hit delete.

Submit changes and publish the new version.
