The International Affairs Team Kick Starts the Preparation for COP27
During our monthly assembly in June, the International Affairs Team shared their experience in international cooperation, presented their 2022 proposals to network with other youth climate NGOs, and called for ideas to design our new business card for COP27.
The assembly started with a presentation on TWYCC’s past experiences in international cooperation. For example, during COP26, our delegates joined several international climate networks including COY, YOUNGO’s Morning Meetings, YOUNGO Working Groups, and Asian Youth Climate Network. Furthermore, our delegates were also invited to join panel discussions, such as sharing our Climate Education Project in Thailand Pavilion and sharing Taiwan’s progress to amend the “Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Management Act” in the Korean Pavilion.
The members of the International Affairs Team also presented four proposals that aim to engage international youth climate NGOs for the rest of the year: a workshop for University Social Responsibility (USR), a hackathon for international climate actions, a social media challenge for energy saving, and a simulation on water management negotiation. While presenting the proposals, the members used Slido to collect feedback from the audience on attractiveness, effectiveness, and feasibility of each proposal for future reference.
The last part of the assembly was a workshop to design new business cards for delegates to use during COP27. After the workshop, the International Affairs Team will refine it further and use it to build more connections for Taiwan in Egypt.
