Connecting learning experiences with the aspirations of todays students matter
In recent weeks the NZ Herald has captured student voice through a number of educational reports culminating with an article written by Jessica Long, ‘School students want passionate teachers and to be taught life skills,report finds.’ The six reports commissioned by the Childrens Commissioner Andrew Becroft and the NZ School Trustees Association expresses the need for flexibility within the curriculum so teachers can better connect with students.
After reading the report Te Reo Irirangi o Tūwharetoa decided to arrange an interview with one of our senior students Stella McLean. Stella openly shares her Tai Wānanga learning experiences and aspirations with radio interviewer Aaron Moeke.
