Inventory Shorts: Introduction

Inventory shorts is a collection of bite-size inventory management articles written with the busy inventory manager in mind. Each article will generally take two to five minutes to read and will help you understand even the most complex inventory management topics. Shorts will also link to longer articles that explain certain concepts in greater detail.

But why?

I’m passionate about inventory management. I know, that sounds almost implausible, but it’s true. I understand inventory management. I’ve spent more than 20 years managing inventory for a number of small and mid-size durable goods distribution companies. I’ve written about inventory management for more than a decade. I produced software that has helped firms reduce their inventory significantly without impacting customer service. In fact, in many cases the same firms were able to significantly improve their customer service while reducing inventory levels.

Because I’m passionate about inventory management, my Take Stock publication is not behind Medium.com’s pay wall. You can subscribe if you like the platform and read some of my other musings, but the inventory stuff; it’ll always be free.
