About 14 kilometres and an easy bus ride from Dublin’s city centre is one of my favourite places on Earth, a picturesque fishing village called Howth. I stumbled upon it quite by accident and ended up loving it so much, I extended my trip just so I could spend a week there.

Howth has something for everyone, stunning scenery, rich history, good food, and salty sea air. Oh, and the people are as warm and friendly as any I’ve ever met.

I’m not a huge golf fan. And I’m not a very good golfer, but who cares when THIS is the view from the course! And, it’s on the grounds of the historic Howth Castle.

For those of you that do like golf, the Deer Park course is a Par 72 with generous fairways.

If you’re into history, Howth certainly won’t disappoint. Just outside the village centre, stands Howth…
