A Mostly Naked Coed Spa With Sprawling Gardens and a Conservatory Saved Me
My heart revealed just how blind I was, but now I see.
Does that couple in the upper right corner of the above photo look nearly as blissed out as I do in that gorgeously simple hot spring? Maybe, but their eyes are glued to a phone, which makes it hard to tell. At that particular moment in time, I think I won the contest for the most blissed-out person.
Unfortunately, it’s not a state I can say that I experience nearly as much as I wish. I don’t know exactly when it happened, but around the time I went back to school to finish my Bachelor’s degree in the thirties, I became too busy to do activities such as yoga, meditating, painting, playing music, biking, dancing, singing, and so on.
I often promised myself that I would get back into engaging the right side of my brain more once I finished my degree. That was over four years ago. I have kept up with journaling, which makes me more mindful and aware, but what about long walks in the park and literally stopping to smell the roses as part of my everyday life?
