Mzpoetry, entered the book writing world in 2013, with her first published ebook, Little Ms. Chocolate Chip; My Diaries, My Memories. Her next book, Who She Be, will be just as sassy, and uplifting as her first. She loves writing poetry and reading.

Now let’s chat with Mzpoetry.

Q. What motivated you to start writing?

A. My life experiences. I have been writing diaries and Poetry since I was about 10 years old, and decided to test out book writing 3 years ago.

Q. How was your first writing experience?

A. It was definitely a learning experience, lol. But it has also been fulfilling because I feel that I have written a book with the intention of bringing forth a message to my readers with the hope that positive familial change comes about.

Q. Your favorite 3 books?

A. The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou and The Bible.

Q. Your favorite quote?

A. “Do your absolute best and give God the rest!”

Q. Your advice to aspiring writers?

A. Be true to you. Sometimes other people’s opinions or thoughts about our ideas can become convoluted and discouraging, but it’s important to remember that you are the writer, so your writing style should be the focus.
