1. Report: Uber, PayPal, Visa to Back Facebook’s GlobalCoin Cryptocurrency

Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Uber are all backing Facebook’s new cryptocurrency, according to a new report.

The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that the social media giant has signed on more than a dozen backers for its GlobalCoin cryptocurrency, a stablecoin that has been developed in secrecy for more than six months. Each of the new backers will invest roughly $10 million in the project as part of a governing consortium for the cryptocurrency.

2. Bakkt to Start Testing Bitcoin Futures This July

The much anticipated bitcoin settled futures by NYSE’s parent company, ICE, are to begin testing this July. Adam White, Bakkt COO, said:

“On July 22, two days after Apollo 11’s 50th anniversary, Bakkt will initiate user acceptance testing for its bitcoin futures listed and traded at ICE Futures U.S. and cleared at ICE Clear US.”

3. Google Integrates Cryptocurrency Project With New Blockchain Oracle

Google announced in a blog post Thursday that ethereum app builders using Google software will be able to integrate data from sources outside the blockchain through a partnership with Chainlink, a company that provides on ramps and off ramps for information necessary to run self-executing code called smart contracts.

It’s never a dull day in crypto when John McAfee is involved. The outlandish computer programmer and businessman just launched his latest venture — a crypto trading portal. Knighted as McAfee Magic, the platform is live but has already experienced a few hiccups.

The site has experienced repeated denial-of-service (DoS) attacks preventing users from logging in to experience “the Magic”. His latest tweets, however, suggest the service is up and running at almost 100% functionality.

5. Binance De-Risks Amidst Regulatory Pressure, Plans for US Crypto Exchange

Their latest news, that many say is “huge” for Binance, one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges by trading volume, could help the company shed any lingering risk due to mounting regulatory concerns in the United States over cryptocurrency exchanges. The platform would be partnering with a FinCEN-registered company to roll out “Binance US,” exclusively for customers based in the United States.

8. Reuters, Bloomberg Terminals, TradingView Add AI-Powered Crypto Index for Top 100 Coins

The half a million traditional traders that use the Reuters and Bloomberg financial terminals will now have access to an index for the 100 strongest-performing cryptocurrencies and tokens.

The terminals’ support of the “CIX100” index — developed by AI-powered cryptocurrency index provider Cryptoindex — was revealed in a press release shared with Cointelegraph on June 13.

Chinese telecommunications hardware giant Huawei is studying the entire Latin American market and considering expanding its operations, Cointelegraph Brazil reports on June 13.

Per the report, a Huawei executive said at the CIAB Febraban conference on June 11 that it is possible its blockchain-enabled products and services will soon be available on the continent.
