In a public call Thursday, Ethereum classic developers recommitted to releasing a system-wide upgrade, or hard fork, to the blockchain’s main network in September.

4. Insurance giant MetLife to use ethereum to revolutionize life insurance process claims

New York-based insurance company, MetLife, is planning to revamp the life insurance claims process by utilizing Ethereum’s blockchain. MetLife’s Singapore-based incubator, LumenLab, is partnering with Singapore Press Holdings, a media group, and insurance cooperative, NTUC Income, to release a smart contract platform built on Ethereum called Lifechain.

5. IOTA Foundation’s Tangle DLT to ensure allergen food safety for Primority

IOTA Foundation, a non-profit foundation focused on distributed ledger technology (DLT) and open-source ecosystem development, today announced a partnership with Primority, a digital food safety management company that helps food product manufacturers monitor food safety in food supply chains.

The partnership includes the development of a prototype app that will allow consumers to easily check what allergens are in a food product when contemplating a purchase.

The recent Firefox’s zero-day security flaw was used in attacks against major crypto exchange and wallet service Coinbase, according to a tweet from Coinbase security researcher Philip Martin posted on June 20.
