1. CCN Shuts Down After Major Google Search Update

Cryptocurrency news site CCN.com is shutting down after experiencing a 71% fall in mobile traffic due to a recent update to Google’s search rankings. Founder Jonas Borchgrevink posted the news on his site saying:

The site began its life as a cryptocurrency-focused news source and, as evidenced by internal charts posted by Borchgrevink, enjoyed high traffic and solid organic search activity. This all came crashing down after what Google called its June 2019 Core Update, an update that Google claimed was “designed to improve our results.”

2. Retail Giant Target Unmasks Its Blockchain Framework Aimed At Supply Chain

While many major US companies have publicized their entry into the blockchain space, Minnesota-based retailer Target has been quietly working on a blockchain-powered solution for supply chain management, dubbed ConsenSource.

ConsenSource has been in the pipelines since mid-2018, but now Target is stepping up its involvement in the blockchain space with a pledge to support the Hyperledger Grid project. The Hyperledger Grid project is a Linux Foundation ledger-based solutions for all types of cross-industry supply chain scenarios.

3. Coinbase will now pay you Dai to learn about the stablecoin

Coinbase, one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, announced today that it has added the Ethereum-backed stablecoin Dai to its Earn program.

Coinbase users will now be able to earn Dai by “watching lessons and completing quizzes about Dai and its features,” according to a statement from the company. The announcement comes just weeks after opening up Dai trading to its retail customers across its web-based and mobile platforms.

7. Trend Micro: Cybercriminals Use Obfuscation Trick to Install Crypto Mining Malware

Cybersecurity firm Trend Micro has confirmed that attackers have been exploiting a vulnerability in the Oracle WebLogic server to install monero (XMR) mining malware, while using certificate files as an obfuscation trick. The news was revealed in a Trend Micro blog post published on June 10.

Sharding project Zilliqa (ZIL) yesterday announced the release of its new smart contract functionality. Developers will be able to write distributed applications in a secure, bug-resistant programming language, known as Scilla.
