“Currently, the Maker development team is going through its most difficult challenge that I have witnessed during my 3.5 years with the project.” So begins a document obtained by CoinDesk, entitled “Zandy’s Story,” dated April 3, 2019. It tells nearly the complete history of MakerDAO, an ethereum-based project best known for creating the stablecoin DAI, from the perspective of one of its earliest supporters.

The 24-page document also clarifies the conflict at the heart of the so-called “Purple Pill Discussions” — a Signal chat group reported by CoinDesk on April 25 that appears to be causing a contentious rift at the top ranks of one of ethereum’s hottest decentralized startups.

8. Paxos to Issue Up to $100 Million of Stablecoins on The Ontology Team Blockchain

Stablecoin issuer Paxos will partner with Ontology to issue up to 100 million of its PAX tokens, pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar, on the latter’s blockchain network starting from next month.

The launch will make it easier for individuals and businesses using Ontology’s ONT token to transact in fiat-pegged tokens, Ontology announced Friday.

9. NYAG Accusations ‘Filled With Inaccuracies,’ Says Bitfinex Letter to Users

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex stated that the recent allegations by the New York Attorney General (NYAG) about the exchange’s insolvency are “filled with inaccuracies and false assertions.” The exchange made the claim in a letter seen by Cointelegraph, emailed to Bitfinex users today, April 27.

The letter was signed by the exchange’s CEO, Jean Louis van der Velde. The letter specifies that the materials brought against the exchange do not constitute a civil or criminal complaint and declares: “In particular, we want to assure you that the allegation that we have ‘lost’ $850 million is categorically false.”
