1. SIX Swiss Exchange Launches ethereum-Based Exchange-Traded Product

Switzerland’s primary stock exchange, SIX Swiss Exchange, has launched trading of an Ethereum (ETH)-based exchange-traded product (ETP) on March 5, according to SIX Group’s website. Backed by the Swiss startup Amun AG, the new Ethereum-based ETP will be trading under the index AETH. The management fee of Ethereum ETP will amount to 2.5 percent.

2. Malta Digital Exchange Relocates Operations to Malta Stock Exchange Premises

Malta Digital Exchange (MDX) is moving in with the Malta Stock Exchange (MSE) in contemplation of the launch of its digital exchange division, the Times of Malta reported on March 5.

4. Mercury FX Fires Up Ripple’s xRapid, Sends First XRP-Powered Payment to the Philippines

Mercury FX, a global currency exchange provider with offices in London, Hong Kong and Cape Town, says it’s new xRapid payment corridor to the Philippines is up and running. The first payment using xRapid was just completed on behalf of a client in the UK who needed to send money across the world to pay for his honeymoon. Mercury FX says it plans to open up as many as 10 new payment corridors using Ripple’s XRP-based xRapid by the middle of this year, including routes to Canada and the Middle East.

8. Futures Trading Nears $1 Billion in First Month at Kraken Crypto Exchange

Cryptocurrency futures provider Crypto Facilities has seen “tremendous growth” since being acquired by U.S.-based crypto exchange Kraken last month, an executive said.

Sui Chung, the subsidiary’s head of indices and pricing products, told CoinDesk that trading volume has increased more than 500 percent since Kraken acquired the futures exchange at the beginning of February for $100 million.

10. Creditor protection extended for cryptocurrency exchange Quadriga

Embattled cryptocurrency exchange QuadrigaCX has received a reprieve from its creditor protection deadline as the search for nearly $200 million in missing virtual currency continues. Nova Scotia Supreme Court Justice Michael Wood today granted the insolvent company a 45-day extension for a stay of proceedings.
