1. Japan Hardens Rules for Cryptocurrency Storage and Trading
Japan has officially revised its laws to provide more clarity — and tighter controls — over cryptocurrency. The legislation amending the Payment Services Act and Financial Instruments and Exchange Act was formally enacted on May 31 and will take effect in April of next year.
Among the notable changes, the act does away with the definition of “virtual currency” and replaces it with the broader term “cryptographic assets.”

2. Block.one Launches Social Media App as Facebook Preps Own Coin
Block.one, the startup that claims to have raised a record $4.2 billion in an Initial Coin Offering last year, launched a new social-media application Saturday.
Called Voice, it uses the EOS digital ledger that Block.one helped create to let users post, share and promote content. Every action is registered on the EOS blockchain.

3. Binance DEX to Block Users From 29 Countries, Including the U.S.
Binance’s decentralized cryptocurrency exchange is reportedly set to start blocking users from the United States and 28 other countries in July of this year, presumably over regulatory concerns over the tokens that can be listed on the platform. This means they won’t be able to trade via Binance.org.
According to TheBlock, Binance has been warning users who access its decentralized exchange from an IP address related to affected countries — which include the USA, Cuba, and Venezuela — that from July 1 onward they’ll no longer be able to access the website.
