Why talentcrush.de?

According to urban dictionary “talent crush” means “having an affection on somebody solely on their talents”. I am fascinated of all the different people I met since working in Talent Acquisition — be it candidates or colleagues. And I think we should focus on individual talents instead of career gaps in resumes or unfinished educations. This positive mindset is the right point of departure for every employer branding endeavour. “Focus on the positive instead going straight to the negative”, this is what a colleague told me once and I believe it’s absolutely the right approach. We should focus on the positive aspects in life and the organizations we work in. Might sound super cheesy to some of you — but I truly believe positive employer brands attract positive-minded talents. Plus, having a crush on somebody is always super cute, isn’t it ;)

Why another HR blog?

This is not another HR blog which has the aim to dictate you the absolute truth. No, this blog focuses on Employer Branding and corresponding topics. There are not any limitations or a strict agenda. In fact, the guiding objective is to be a change-agent in the employer branding discourse. “Be the change you want to see” — is one of the the best mottos in life. Even though I cannot recall a career of 25 years or though I met many grumpy, toxic, close-minded even racist people being super depressed but acting with a lot of corporate cockiness. And I swore to myself I never ever wanna end up like them. Luckily, I also meet a lot of inspiring, entrepreneurial, and super kick-ass people who often help me the learn new stuff and disrupt my worldviews. I hope can transfer this ‘goosebump-feeling’ to some of my readers as well. Chaka!

Why you?

Why not? :P It’s not the absolute truth on this blog, it’s just my view of the stuff. I don’t have an extensive HR or Talent Acquisition background or took HR courses in university — but always worked in Marketing & Communications departments before. In my opinion more and more people with diverse backgrounds should join HR teams to disrupt current views on traditional HR. Sometimes naive decision are the best decisions in life. Actually, I joined HR because I always watched some Recruiters doing phone interviews while I was in the meeting room next to them pitching stories to journalists. I thought “Wow — must be so nice to talk to people who actually want something from you”…only later I found out that recruiting is also Sales & Marketing in the end.
