“Product Lifecycle Management, or PLM, refers to the combined operating ecosystem and digital platform to manage, share and reuse enterprise data along the product development lifecycle and beyond”

Business leaders and entrepreneurs focus on delivering new products. They look for ways to improve delivery time, throughput and productivity, customer and employee experience, and consistently delivering quality plays a major role.

A rushed product lacking in quality or a well-tested but overdue project are common trade-offs. However, the strategies adopted for managing this trade-off often depend on several factors,

  1. Company/Team culture
  2. Nature of the project
  3. The clients’ requirements

Practicing the Agile methodology supports continuous delivery & open to feedback throughout the PLC. Therefore helps to maintain the speed of the delivery. However, speed doesn’t compromise the quality, as each iteration involves a complete development cycle where codes are written, tested, integrated, and used in a live environment.

An agile framework known as the concept of “Sprints” involves planning, designing, coding & testing. Since the concept of a sprint has a short cycle, it allows to prioritize tasks & deliver what exactly the customer requires. Therefore the team may develop small components but with a better-quality output as their focus remains & is not overloaded or overburdened.

However, it’s important to understand that not all concepts are relevant to all projects, concepts are practices may change according to the requirements, deadlines, or depending on which stage the project is currently at.

Therefore, it’s important to be open to adapting & making sure that product quality & project delivery are both looked into equally while constantly learning what works uniquely best for the team & project.
