The ‘somewhere-ness’ of Australian wine

The average Australian knows how to enjoy a drink, so it is no wonder that the wine consumption per capita in Australia is the highest in the English-speaking world. It is also no mean feat, that this rugged, sunburned country is the world’s 5th largest wine exporter after France, Italy, Spain and China. There is a lot to be said for a land of lush’s who not only grow enough wine to satisfy their own consumers but also ensure there is plenty to share with the wine punter world-wide.

Perhaps it is this generosity of spirit that landed Australia on its wine making feet back in the 90's, when the giddy and phenomenal ride along the wave of export success gained momentum.
