Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are bringing the beloved DC comic Preacher onscreen and judging from the pilot… It’s going to be perfect.

Fulfilling a promise to his deceased father, one-time outlaw Jesse Custer returns home to West Texas to take over his dad’s church. Jesse’s mission, however, becomes twisted when his body is overcome by a cryptic force that unleashes within him a highly unconventional power. Together with hell-raising ex-girlfriend Tulip and Irish vagabond Cassidy, the preacher-in-training embarks on a journey to find God in a world inhabited by holy, hellish, and everything-in-between characters

So… Is it worth watching?

Sure.. It’s not the same as comic, there might not be an actual road trip, Tulip is not white, Jesse Custer may more righteous on TV. But the humor that is expected to be generated from the series may be the best thing that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg do. (Remember the Interview?) Sam Catlin is also involved in the production team, you might remember him from Breaking Bad. Preacher is coming from the same AMC that gave us shows like Breaking Bad, Walking Dead and Mad Men.

The show really sets the mood with the pilot episode with some violence and gore stealing the show. It even starts off with an explosion.

If you can sit through that, you are ready for Preacher.

The Characters:

Dominic Cooper plays the role of Jesse Custer in the series. He has played his part in MCU before playing Howard Stark in many of the shows. Here he seems a bit unsure of the role, but does impress in places. Ruth Negga plays the role of Tulip, Jesse’s partner in crime and comes across with an impressive intro sequence. She could be the best to play the role. Joe Gilgun(Misfits) has an even better (still hot debate) opening playing a vampire with ease. He knows his moves, survives a plane crash, devours a cow and lands in jail for doing absolutely nothing all in the pilot. Fingers crossed on what is to come with Cassidy in the series.

Bonus:

We see the same Big Ass Location Titles that we found in Captain America : Civil War. Coincidence? Probably!

While watching the series, keep this in mind.

Be Brave. Tell her the Truth. Open your Heart.
