HybridStack : Will 2018 be the battle of Hybrid clouds?

As far as the market shows , the world is thinking , talking and breathing the clouds in one way or another. Startups are of course the main target for cloud-providers ,but with the growth of the company comes an inflated bill. Enterprises are starting to look at the cloud as an opportunity for new business models which challenge now the big cloud-providers.

Enterprises will not go all-in towards the cloud but will look for the best way for creating the ultimate stack. You can see the big players in the enterprise IT industry are doing big moves. As it looks all major players are going public with their combined services in September this year.

The first announcement surprised me but AWS & VMware did an amazing move. It’s not a published service yet but running VMware services in the cloud while possible enjoying different services in the AWS Stack is a great move . Furthermore , Customer will be able to use VMware self-service platform with the entire Onpremise & Public Cloud offering and stay in their comfort zone of management . I’m waiting to hear more at #VMwareWorld2017

The second announcement was at the same time i believe or even slightly earlier but did not have a the same wow effect in my opinion , Microsoft Azure Services with Azure Stack OnPremise. Microsoft started this hybrid move along time ago in different variations with little success also ,But lately with their different software services like Exchange , CRM etc they are doing it right. After they had an unsuccessful run with the Azure Pack ,the new Azure stack should be exactly the same aproach ,Providing of services OnPremise as they have in the public cloud with the same management capabilities. I’m still not sure if Microsoft will succeed this time and go the whole nine yards in the battle , Let’s wait and see .#AzureStack #Microsoft #AzureCloud

The last interesting announcement and actually also the most interesting to watch is a company which is disrupting the traditional OnPremise IT world . They are bringing the HyperConverged concept strongly and this is of course #Nutanix. They are doing amazing stuff and as i already checked behind the scenes with them they are making big plays in the datacenter area where they are going head-to-head directly with VMware’s stack. Not only are they providing a full-Stack for your datacenter , they are also partnering with non other then #Google in order to battle out the most valuable #HybridStack. Nutanix with Google Cloud Platform are aiming to combine Nutanix OnPremise Platform not only for VM instances ,rather aiming for a bigger move like running directly containers and different Services . Combine this approach with Googles vision you get i believe a great contender for the trophy. Stretching Nutanix to Google is a huge move by both of the vendors , the surprising thing is that Nutanix is still trying to position themselves OnPremise and Google themselves in the public cloud area so going together also in the Hybrid could be also a risk but lets wait and see. I do believe the future will being interesting stuff from this match.

It’s still early to see where each of the above mentioned stacks will go , but it is defiantly the most interesting battles you will see in the following year or two.
