In the two months since we launched Talkshow, we’ve seen shows on everything from television to dating to books to Prince to the NBA finals (and the Draft), with hosts ranging from actors to comedians to cookbook authors to television superfans to friends sharing their lives. As people continue to explore interesting ways to use Talkshow (like when a few friends hosted a Talkshow while seeing Warcraft in the theater), we’re continuing to ship updates that make it easier for you to find and engage in Talkshows.

Today we shipped Talkshow 1.2, an update that makes it easier to keep up with what’s happening for you on Talkshow, and to participate in Talkshows without even launching the app.

My own personal notifications tab

New Notifications tab

The new Notifications tab gives you a place to see all the activity happening for you on Talkshow. It’s the place to find out…

  • When you’ve been followed, @mentioned or invited to co-host a show
  • When a show you’re hosting has been favorited 🌟 or featured 💎, and when a co-host accepts 😊 or declines 🙁 your invitation
  • When someone you follow shares a show they’re hosting or enjoying

We’ll badge the notification tab (and the Talkshow app on your homescreen) when you have new notifications to check out.

Swipe on those push notifications. It’s fun!

Improved push notifications

Since we’re improving Notifications inside the app, we thought we’d improve them outside the app as well. Starting today, when you receive a push notification from Talkshow, you can act on it directly from your phone’s lock screen.

  • Just got followed? Swipe to follow them back instantly, right from the push notification.
  • Hosting a show? Swipe to reply to the message you just received, without even launching the app. Don’t have anything clever to say? Then you can instantly send a ❤️ reaction
  • Invited to a co-host a show? Swipe to accept or decline right from your lock screen.
  • Did someone you follow send you a push notification about a show they’re hosting? Swipe to favorite that show right away.

And there’s more coming

We have a lot more great stuff coming to Talkshow, and we appreciate all the feedback. Keep it coming! Hit us up on Twitter at @talkshow, or email us at hello@talkshow.im with any feedback. And, as always, thanks for checking out Talkshow.
