Kingston, Jamaica — Talk Up Yout, Jamaica’s top TV show for youth is back! Episode 1 of Talk Up Yout’s 7th season premieres Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 6:00 PM on Television Jamaica. Talk Up Yout is powered by National Baking Company for over 7 years, sponsored by CranWATA and produced by Stanley & Empress Productions.
Talk Up Yout Season 7 will feature a brand new cast of young people between the ages of 15 and 25, speaking about all-new hot topics such as High School Rules, Jamaican Masculinity and Tertiary Education. Talk Up Yout will also be featuring the creative genius of young Jamaican dub poets performing culturally-relevant poetic commentary on the episode topics each week!
Over the last seven years Talk Up Yout has acquired a reputation for being the youth-preferred platform for discussing youth-relevant social issues and collaborating to find solutions. Each year the number of young people who audition for the show increases significantly. This year close to 500 Jamaican young people auditioned by recording themselves speaking for two minutes about youth issues and solutions to these issues.
Talk Up Yout continues to honor its core mission of “Giving the Youth a Voice”, by putting the voices of these young people into the living rooms of thousands of Jamaicans and encouraging them to engage with the ideas and opinions being presented by the youth. The viewers of the programme join the conversations about the programme on Talk Up Yout’s social media pages during and after the show broadcast.
But none of this would be possible without Talk Up Yout’s corporate partners. They have played an integral role in keeping Talk Up Yout on the air over the years. National Baking Company has been with Talk Up Yout from season 1 and has never hesitated to support the youth in any way they can. CranWata has also been a major part of Talk Up Yout’s development — partnering with the TV show to offer scholarships to young people across the island in a variety of educational pursuits.
Talk Up Yout Season 7 will run from September 27 to late November. The highlight of the season will be the powerful, engaging weekly episodes every Wednesday at 6 PM on TVJ and repeat episodes every Sunday at 12:30 in the afternoon.
