Amazing Dreams
The boy had amazing dreams inside of his head
So he decided it best to just stay in bed
There he would dream up his plan each day and each night
While his body lay resting, his mind would take flight
He traveled to places as far as the stars
Where martians were driving in marshmallow cars
He played in the big leagues, flew, kissed an actress
All without ever once leaving his mattress
And the best thing was that whatever he did
Was directed and done by only a kid
So as king he declared, “All work must be play!”
And then as the boss, he gave money away
And though the boy’s dreams were truly amazing
The truth of it all was that he was just lazy
’Cause while he dreamed up adventures and all the best fun
He really just laid there and nothing got done.
