Workers today are increasingly mobile, migrating from job to job over their career in search of greater fulfillment and compensation. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics an individual holds an average of 11.9 jobs from ages 18 to 50, with nearly half of these jobs held before age 25. While some people experience seamless transitions, others, unfortunately, find themselves in between jobs for much longer. How long does it take you to find a job?

It takes roughly one month to find a job for every $10,000 in the paycheck. As such, a $60,000 a year job would take six months to find. Even with low unemployment at 3.9% (source: Bureau of Labor Statistics), positions can take more than 90 days to fill:

· Sales people: 94.7 days

· HR Professionals: 84.3 days

· Public sector: 53.8 days

· Restaurants and bars: 10.2 days

Staying positive during the search can be tough, but your mission as a job seeker is to keep your eye on the prize. Regardless of how long the hiring process takes, remember that external factors, such as economic conditions, are beyond your control. During this time, work on yourself and make your candidacy is as strong as possible.

Advanced technologies can address certain types of unemployment. Talo Protocol is building an ecosystem using Blockchain and artificial intelligence to match employers to candidates more efficiently, reducing the waiting time from weeks to days.
