It is already a bit late to recommend a list of places or activities before colorful autumn has gone, however, there are still magical places to experience near Tallinn, in this list a series of places where you can hike, pick berries, or just taking some awesome photos.

This list is based on personal experience for reachable and fun experiences near Tallinn, and it can be reached by public transport.

Tabasalu trail

Great, peaceful park to gather some friends and go for a walk, views of the sea are amazing and there is an area to grill some food or make your own food in advance and sit down for a picnic before it gets too cold to hang out outside.

Kadriorg park

As it is a park, it is very colorful at this time of the year. There are many trees that at this stage of the year are either green or yellow. During the wintertime, this park has its own vibe, with the snow and Christmas lights, but in autumn it’s a whole different story, especially if you can catch sunny weather. There are many places to chill in the park (KUMU art gallery, benches by the lake, cafes, etc.). While it might not be the most exciting place to visit, it still has its own spirit, especially after a long, busy, and tiring week.

Palmse Manor

This place has a lot of potentials to visit, and also it has a guest house and a restaurant where you can enjoy fascinating scenes of colorful trees reflected on the lake clear water, a special treat is also there at the smith shop with a great collection of metal and weapon tools from ancient dynasties and WWI/ II, also you can coin your own there.

Lahemaa National Park

A signature for Estonian landscape experience with a lot of bogs and observation towers, a great hiking spot with minimal navigation effort, the route is easy and well defined.

Tallinn Zoo

When was the last time you saw a polar bear? Never?! Then you can try Tallinn Zoo, it has the most exotic collection of creatures in nordic, and is a couple of buses stops away.
