If you’re a lover of food and different experiences, like I am, this is the story for you. Estonia has a wide range of different cultures, which means a various choice of foods to satisfy your palate. Here are my 9 go-to spots for a great meal or treat!

1. Reval Cafe

This is my absolute favourite cafe to visit. It has many food options such as breakfast choices, crepes (savory & sweet), delicious pastas and much more. The best thing about this cafe is not only the ambiance and great customer service, but their vanilla flavoured chai latte, is literally to die for. I usually have this with a slice of their delicious Napoleon cake. You can check out their locations and possible menus at: https://revalcafe.ee

2. Vapiano

Pasta lovers, here’s your place! I enjoy this restaurant as it’s a bit different from the usual; You can actually see them cooking your food! They also have a wide range of other options such as pizzas, salads and much more. This definitely has the best pasta that I’ve had in Tallinn! Check out their restaurant: https://ee.vapiano.com/en/home/

3. La Tabla

“Stepping in to La Tabla you enter a foodie’s hike through Latin American cuisine. We offer a little overview of the modern aspect of the cuisine from this region, which you don’t usually come across in Estonia” — Maria Fernanda (Mexico), the chef at La Tabla. I love this place because they serve spicy, yet flavourful food that you can’t get enough of. Their environment is also very cultural and a bite of their food feels like Latin America meets Estonia. Taquitos with Chicken

4. Suveterrass

Not only does this place have an extraordinary view and location, the food is also amazing! I absolutely recommend this place for a relaxing evening with a glass of wine whilst enjoying the gorgeous view of Estonia. You can find and enjoy one of their tasty meals at: https://suveterrass.getaway.ee

Poke Bowl

5. F-Hoone

Absolutely adore the hipster-vibe of this place! It has a very relaxing aura, where you can just enjoy one of their delicious meals and have a great conversation with a friend. I have had their delicious Furger, which is a dark bread burger with an Aberdeen-Angus veal cutlet, bacon, vegetables and cheddar cheese, served with home-made fries! You can check out their menu and more at: http://www.fhoone.ee/en/

6. Peps

A beautiful cafe/wine bar hidden on a side street in the city centre with bright and spacious glass wall. The venue is just as amazing as their food! Their lamb burger was so good, that I just had to get their spicy coconut soup with mushroom as well. The customer service is so welcoming, that I have stayed there for over five hours once, because I couldn’t get enough of it. This place is very recommended for a delicious meal in a cozy cafe. This is their menu: https://www.facebook.com/pg/PEPSkohvik/menu/?ref=page_internal

7. Sushi Plaza

If you love sushi, just as much as I do, you know that eating sushi every day is a possibility. Unfortunately, this is not an option for my inquisitive palate. Sushi Plaza has a great vibe that you can hang out with your friends whilst eating some of the best sushi in Estonia. Not only can you book a reservation online, but you can also pre-order your sushi, so that you don’t have to hassle or wait. Their Daibosatsu-jima is a set of 40 pieces of sushi that you can share with a friend or eat it all for yourself! If you’re not a fan of sushi, Sushi Plaza has a variety of options that are just as tasty: https://sushiplaza.ee/en/

8. Texas Honky Tonk & Cantina

Welcome to Texas! At least, that’s how it feels when you enter this restaurant. This is a ‘tex-mex’ restaurant, located in Old Town, that is regarded as the Texas embassy in Tallinn. The environment gives you an American feel with spirit, music and delicious food. Their Buenas Nachos is definitely enough to keep you coming back.

9. Wolt & Bolt Food

Although this is not a spot, these apps definitely provide a wide range of choices — Wolt and Bolt Food. If you’re in a hurry or feeling lazy, ordering food on one of these apps may be your best choice, as they have majority of the restaurants in Tallinn available. Depending on your location, your delivery fee may vary. Sometimes, the apps enable you to find restaurants that you didn’t even know were near you, thus, creating more opportunity for exploring.
