Four places to find Nunnuke in Tallinn!

Nunnuke means “cutie” in Estonian — believe you love cats and dogs, but maybe sometimes struggling to find a place to pet them, or you are tired of the last two years of the covid pandemic and the recent situation… Here we are! This article will introduce four location, including Animal Shelters and Cat Cafe in Tallinn.

Please note: if the nunnuke really catches your heart but you have a roommate, please get their consent before considering adopting an animal:)

Pesaleja MTÜ

This is the largest homeless animal shelter in Estonia run by volunteers. Every day, more than 500 animals are being cared for by their staff and volunteers in the shelter, and they find new homes for 600 animals every year.

They help homeless and abused animals by providing them with temporary shelter, support and care in a Nester’s shelter or shelter and to find their home. Moreover, you can find all of their available animals on their website.

Opening time: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 13:00–19:00 and Sat, Sun 13:00–17:00

Nurri cat cafe

Nurri cat cafe located in the Tallinn city center, a great place to spend free time in the company of 11 lovely cats. They offer visitors healthy and delicious food, drinks and a pleasant environment. Most importantly, an opportunity to spend time with the cafe’s 11 kittens, which melt your hearts and scare away loneliness, fatigue and bad mood. Furthermore, you can play with kittens (they provide toys!), take pictures and drawings of them.

Entrance: 6 euro, and half (3 euro) for pensioner and student, free for who’s under 19 years old.

Varjupaikade MTÜ

This shelter was established in 2007. They operate in six animal shelters all over Estonia: Lääne County, Pärnu, Tallinn, Valga, Viljandi and Võru. They have helped more than 20,000 animals return home, and aim to provide the best care for animals that have lost their homes.

They are also a contractual partner for many local governments all over Estonia, from whose places animals that have escaped from the owner or owner have reached them.

Opening time: Mon to Sun 12:00–16:00

Loomade Hoiupaik MTÜ

This animal shelter not far from Taltech is also an animal hospital, it is working to help shelter animals stay in shelters till they find their new owners, because all profit goes for those shelter animals stay in shelters as long as it is needed, until they go to their new homes. You can also contact them and walk the dogs there.

Currently they allow only the following reasons for visit: donation, walk with dogs and pick up the animal you want.
