International Dinner goes BOOM
Last Thursday International Dinner event took place in the Student House of TalTech and it was organized by the youth international student organization ESN TalTech IC.
International Dinner gathered over 200 bright-mind students from all over the world. 11 different nationalities were competing with each other in cuisine and performance. They worked hard to present their national food and performance to the audience. It was Legendary!
Food and performance were assessed by the jury we had for this event:

So here they are, our participants that made all of it possible:
Winner of the International Dinner — India
The winner team prepared the Chicken curry and raita for us. Also, they offered Paav bhaji (the vegetables mash), tomato garlic rasam (Indian tomato soup) and shakkar pare (sweet snacks), which was just amazing!!! They also showed us great Indian dancing performance, that made the whole crowd dance — it was crazy.
Best Cuisine — France
French team won nomination of the best cuisine, they were motivated to make every possible French food they could make from the first moment and they did it pretty well. Totally loved it! Also, they showed us amazing performance.
Best Performance — Japan
Winning team for the best performance was Japan — they did extraordinary things on the stage. You should have seen that! Also, they offered us great Japanese food such as Chirashi and Yakitori
Austria
Austrians were really well prepared for this event. They presented their national costumes, great dancing performance and as a food they had Kaiserschmarrn which is an Austrian dessert made of flour, milk, eggs and it comes with applesauce and powdered sugar. Totally loved it.
Germany
Germans showed us how it should be done and offered their national food to people, such as Potato Pancakes, Obatzda and of course Sausages.
Czech Republic
Czech Republic was presented with big variety of food: Potato pancakes, open sandwich with cheese, ham and vegetables, cake with cherries and great, fun performance in the end.
Italy
This great team showed us their tasty Italian food and great Karaoke performance: Bella Ciao. It was fun!
Portugal
Portuguese prepared Aletria, Pastel de Nata, Bifanas and Pao de Lo for us, which was personally my favorite thing to taste on that event. They also did great guitar performance with one Brazilian guy, that amazed all of us with their guitar and singing skills
Arab Countries
This time Students from the Arab countries came together and offered us food with joint forces: Grape leaves, falafel & hummus, Manaqish zaatar and Muhillabia dessert — It was great!
Estonia
The Host country presented us some sprat sandwiches, Estonian chocolate candies, pickled pumpkin and rye dried bread cups with cream cheese.
To Sum up, the event went really well. We saw a lot of different culture and tasted delicious food. All of this would not be possible without ESN TalTech IC team, that took challenge and organised the whole event from scratch. So, thanks to them!
