Not so obvious dormitory essentials

I remember very well how I got my place in the dormitory two years ago and started preparing to move in. I spent a couple of days googling things that I needed to bring with me to make myself feel comfortable and I was very scared to forget something. That’s why, right now I decided to make a list of not the most obvious things I have in my dorm room, which are making my stay much comfier here.

This is my personal list, but it might help you in your moving-in process and maybe give you some ideas about what you are going to need.

You may find some of the things I mentioned on this photo of my room
  • blanket

It is always nice to have a cozy blanket that you can use for picnics or just to make your room seem nicer.

  • small decorative pillows

Same here, in addition, it is super comfy to use when watching movies or while working from bed 🤦‍♀️

  • table lamp

Helps when you need more precise lights while working on something or reading. It is also helpful when you want to have a less bright light in your room.

  • storage boxes

That is obvious, when seasons are changing you need to store the clothes or shoes you don’t wear anymore and keep them safe and clean. Plus, it helps you to stay more organized.

  • extension cord

You might need that if you want to be more flexible with power outlets. I cannot even tell how many times I found it helpful.

  • sticky wall hangers

Very convenient to use with storing bags, belts, or towels, it saves so much space. Also, you can take a look at those hooks, that are attached to doors.

  • paper organizer

I guarantee you gonna have a lot of important papers, that you don't want to lose, and the best way to keep them safe is to store them in a folder or paper organizer in one place.

  • chair pad

At least in my dorm chairs are not the most comfortable and I cannot imagine myself working on it for hours without a special chair pad.

  • organizing baskets

It helps to organize the small stuff you have and declutter your room. Not to mention it makes the room appear nicer.

  • board games

Always nice to have some board games just in case you have game night with friends or dorm-mates.

  • fairy lights or some alternatives to make it cozier

Another optional thing that sets the atmosphere in the room. You can hang it on the wall, ceiling, or windows.
