While students were enduring the pandemic for nearly two years, we missed our classes, friends, and the plethora of events on campus that brought us closer together.

With classes finally in-person again and everyone finally reunited, what better way to celebrate the start of a new academic year than TalTech’s Campus Party last Friday?

The events started as early as 12:00, with campus tours, alumni reunions, and a celebration of the 50th anniversary of TalTech’s library museum. Later in the evening, ESN Tallinn hosted a quiz night and the Inventors’ Song and Dance festival served as a curtain-raiser to the main event: the campus afterparty.

Inventors’ Song and Dance Festival

There was no shortage of opportunities to have fun all night — in TalTech’s assembly hall you could see a great line-up of Estonian performers such as singer Anne Veski, rap duo Clicherik & Mäx, and rock band Terminaator; the cafeteria in TalTech’s main building was refashioned into a nightclub floor with DJs; and outside you could grab a pair of headphones and take part in the Silent Disco, where only you could hear the music playing.

Teriyaki chicken and fries from one of the food trucks at the party — 10/10!

Overall, the event was amazing, and while the weather was a little cold, it didn’t rain — there was no time to feel bored with so much going on around us, and there was even a photobooth available to capture the fun memories of the night with friends. I’m already looking forward to next year!
