Saving up money while you are still studying is pretty important, as you need to understand how to control your spending, on what you are spending, and to understand the importance of saving.

Many of us struggle to reach an understanding on what to save, what are the things that might be not so important to buy, it’s perfectly normal to not have this knowledge, as most of us were dependent on our parents, and mostly they would do all the finance. But as we grow we need to grasp the idea of saving, in order not to have financial troubles while studying.

  1. Stop being a brand buyer:
I admit, when you are loyal to a certain brand, it is almost impossible to break the bond. However, when saving, you might want to consider other alternatives that might be way cheaper with good quality.
  2. Take out:
This is one of the things that is causing us to spend a lot of money, without even noticing. Stop being lazy, and instead, you can try to prepare easy meals that will last up to the 3 days, there are dozens of these meals that you can find all over the internet. This can save huge amount of money.
  3. New books:
For book lovers like me, I know it is a lot nicer when you have a hard copy of the book, and the smell of the pages. However, books as well can cost us good amount of money if you are a frequent reader. Instead, you can try different apps like BookMate or other apps in which you can find almost any book you want.
  4. Manicures/Pedicures:
I know from time to time it is always good to treat ourselves, but not too often. Instead of going to the salon, you can buy nails kit, and learn how to do your nails. Trust me it will save you a lot of money.
  5. Unnecessary food:
When going to the grocery store, make sure to write down exactly the things that you need. A lot of times you might ending buying things that you won’t use/eat and end up tossing them in the trash, which will result in wasting money.
  6. Buying small decorations:
Oh this one is such a tricky thing, you can find yourself every time buying small decorations for your room, but trust me, you have no idea how much they cost us money if you sum them all up, and plus they just stand and collect dust. Instead, you can merely keep it simple, creative, and you can try DIYs. Great tip to save money.
  7. Cinemas:
As a theater/movies lover, I adore going to the cinemas, but it can cost you hundreds of dollars by only buying tickets. I am not saying do not go to the cinemas at all, but not too often, especially if it was that kind of a movie that you can just watch it at home Instead, wait for it to be available online with a HD quality, make some popcorn, and save lots of money.

The list can go on, it really depends on your spending, and the things that you are buying. You can write down all the things that you buy, identify the important once, and cross out the ones that you don’t need to buy.
