Have you ever felt as if a pile of tasks have bombarded you and you feel like you lost your ability to manage any task effectively and you don’t know from where to start, what to prioritize, how to plan a schedule for them?

Well this blog is going to serve you well, for I am going to share some effective tips to help you start managing your time, get your managing abilities on track and start doing your tasks without delegating them because of lacking the skills to manage them correctly.

  1. Getting Enough Sleep And Eating Healthy:
Yes, that is right. The first thing you need to make sure is to get enough sleep for your body, it is essential for you to have energy and a clear mind to manage the different tasks that you have to do. The second thing you need to focus on is eating healthy and drink lots of water, eating healthy will keep you more focused, refreshed and ready to face all the deadlines, otherwise, if you do not look after yourself, you will enter a cycle of stress and delegation of tasks, which indeed every student is trying to avoid.
  2. 20 Minutes Of Focus:
I believe that this tip is quite effective for students who can’t sit for straight long hours studying. When you are doing a task/assignment/project whatever it is, set a timer for 20 minutes to work on this task without taking a break or distracting yourself with other things. After 20 minutes, take a break for about 5 minutes only, to freshen up, you can just close your eyes to rest, listen to a song, call someone, etc. Then take another 20 minutes and repeat the cycle until you are finished.
  3. Create A To-Do List:
To-do lists can be extremely helpful for you to organize your tasks, to remember what you have to do, which tasks are more important than other tasks, when do you have to finish them, and to scratch the tasks that you are already done with. You might not need this if your brain is a computer and can organize everything for you. But otherwise, this really comes in handy when you have too many things to do.
  4. Treat Yourself:
Many students lack motivation of achieving tasks as an absence of reward after being done with them. It is important that you reward yourself after your finish your tasks, it could be reading your favourite book, watching a movie, going to the gym, eating your favourite meal/dessert, it could be anything that can give you a positive feeling and confidence and an awareness that you have successfully managed to finish your task.
  5. Ask For Advice/Help:
You don’t have to know everything or feel like you can do it all by yourself, everyone sometimes need help or advice and there is nothing wrong asking for it. You can of course always use google but sometimes it would be much more convenient to have a real conversation with someone. You could ask for help at the student counseling at university, or simply ask your friends/classmates for help. Asking for help can get you managing your tasks faster and more effective and you can avoid time-wasting.
  6. Don’t Be Too Serious:
Sure, managing your time is a serious matter for a student/worker and it is a must for you to be able to successfully pass the year, but do not surround yourself too much with achieving tasks, this can also be harmful and might have an adverse effect on you by causing you stress and the need to finish everything as fast as possible. Take time for yourself, and don’t banish fun, a good balance of work/studying and fun is what it takes to achieve your tasks effectively and keep up with your social life.

Procrastination is surely an annoying thing and it can be hard to get rid off. But these tips can help you start managing your tasks, figuring out ways that suit you the most and to help you structure the perfect schedule for you. You do not need to apply each of these tips, you can always be creative and make ways for yourself to manage your time.
