From mid-June the Digital Health master’s program will welcome a new Program Director, Doris Kaljuste. Doris has received her master’s degree in Biomedical engineering at TalTech in 2014. After that she joined the East-Tallinn Central Hospital’s Medical Equipment Department as a Project Manager for an international integrated eCare project SmartCare. She has worked in the TalTech e-Medicine Centre since 2016, focusing on carrying out different international projects on health technologies, analytics, and prevention. In addition to her own work Doris has been contributing to the Digital Health program by giving lectures, supervising theses and internships as well as organising eHealth Meet-up’s and Hackathons.

Being involved with several big health innovation projects, Doris has expertise on the latest developments in the field as well as what it is like to implement change in health care. Currently she is carrying out impact assessment for three telemedicine services funded by the Estonian Health Insutance Fund and working together with hospitals, general practitioners, and technology companies.

“Digital Health MSc program has gone through rapid growth during the recent few years. My main goal in the first year is, with the help of our lecturers, cooperation partners and of course students, synchronise all changes with the overall goal of the curriculum and with each other,” explains Doris. “Based on my previous studies and work I hope to foster the cooperation between health care providers, innovators and university. Even though I recognise the hard work ahead I am excited and looking forward to the challenges and growth that the new role holds,” she shares.

We also want to thank the former program manager, Kadi Lubi, whose hard work and dedication have helped to transform the curriculum and provide the students with knowledge on the importance of backing everything up with scientific research. We wish Kadi all the best in her future endeavours.

Digital Health MSc is a unique Master’s program in Europe that provides interdisciplinary knowledge on digital technologies, innovation and change management of health care. It relies on the best practices of health care digital transformation and e-health innovations from Estonian e-health system and international successes.
