Why Wisconsin is Fighting Back with Tammy

Right now, outside groups have spent more money against Tammy than any other Democratic Senator up for reelection in 2018. And our team knows why: these ultra-wealthy outside groups want to replace Tammy with someone who will work for them, not the hardworking people of our state.

So this weekend, our grassroots team fought back.

They hosted canvasses. They held house parties. They knocked doors in their neighborhoods. They gathered at county party offices, at local parks, and at people’s homes. And they did it because they believe in the work Tammy is doing for them, and because they’re not afraid of billionaires like the Koch Brothers. From small towns to big cities, the grassroots was out in force to fight back with Tammy.

Tammy came out to cheer on the organizers in Mauston, Wausau, Spencer, and Eau Claire as they hit the doors to gather nomination paper signatures. While traveling across the state, she heard some incredible stories from folks who are doing all they can to help elect Democrats up and down the ballot in 2018.

She met Steve from Juneau County. He wasn’t involved in politics until after the 2016 election. Now, he leads the Juneau County Democratic Party, and is helping get other folks fired up to knock doors, host fundraisers, and support Democrats in western Wisconsin! Tammy also met a couple who used to be Republicans. Now, they’re out collecting signatures and volunteering to elect legislators who will work for them — not just those at the top.

Tammy often says we have the best grassroots team in the country. This weekend proved it! Folks stood up, took action, and made a difference at over 100 events from Ashland to Sturgeon Bay to Dodgeville. County parties, neighborhood organizations, and grassroots groups across the state are more fired up than ever before.
