The new Logo for Tanaza
A symbol for the community of Wi-Fi professionals
Launched in 2012, Tanaza is a Wi-Fi software company with a mission to establish a world where any person and any object are connected, anytime, anywhere, wirelessly.
Tanaza was founded with the idea to develop a sophisticated tool that could be so smart that it could be easily integrated to work in perfect harmony with any device from any vendor. Tanaza is a Linux-based Operating System that enables communications between wireless access points and a cloud-based unified management layer.
In the past, many of our users have described our software as a tool with “superpowers” that can magically transform ordinary wireless devices into smart and powerful machines.
The idea we wish to put forth is that powerful tools should not be ONLY for large enterprises who can afford expensive hardware, but also for businesses and companies, no matter their size, that require a Wi-Fi solution with enterprise-grade features at a fraction of the cost.
In the last six years, we have come a long way. Today, we have fully transformed our brand in order to capture what using Tanaza is really about:
To disaggregate hardware and software to create reliable and cost-effective Wi-Fi networks.
Our initial logo was neither great nor bad, it was sufficiently functional. When Tanaza first started, we were 3 engineers who just wanted to focus on building a great product.
During 2018, our design team, in partnership with Copystudio, created an entirely new Tanaza logo to reflect our vision.
The word “network” has been a key inspiration in the way we wish to visually communicate our brand. However, we found that design elements like lines and dots were not enough to shape our new brand idea. We wanted a memorable concept that could be easily recognized and understood. We wanted an impactful logo that could personify the meticulous manner with which we have developed our product and reflect the quality and reliability of our software.
And so, we thought — who better than an alien spider to represent the creation of a robust and impenetrable network.
We’re proud to introduce Hiro: a symbol, an original trademark that impersonates our shared values. An icon for our community of Wi-Fi professionals who embrace open networking.
We have also updated our wordmark. We have carefully designed our geometric letters, paying close attention to the “a”, as it is repeated 3 times within the word Tanaza.
Additionally, we have also changed our primary color. We decided to abandon the bright orange that allowed us to differentiate ourselves from the very beginning within the Wi-Fi industry. Our new logo is predominately black and white, to balance the bold identity of our new trademark: HIRO
The new Tanaza logo was crafted following our revolutionary growth plan. We have worked arduously over the past two years to launch our new TanazaOS product, and thanks to Hiro, our vision for the future of open networking couldn’t be clearer.
Once we’ve brought the new Brand to life, the next step for our team will be to create a brand new visual identity to keep visual consistency across the entire company.
