If we are cordial to others, while thinking unfriendly thoughts about them and holding onto resentment in our hearts, we will likely draw dissension and dishonesty out in them. If we are carrying our wounds on our sleeves and consistently unloading our internal anguish on those around us, we will likely elicit that same hurt and turmoil from others. For this reason, forgiveness is an ongoing necessity within our communities of discovery, our interactions with those we live with and our daily friendships.
But when we treat others as if they are already living into their brilliant capacity, despite their present uncertainties, we honor the full reality of their future potential. As we humble ourselves and follow Divine guidance, we are enabled to encourage others through the rough places of their lives. Because the more we understand that we are loved — already and unconditionally — the more we are able to love and inspire anyone we touch.
And as love dissolves fear, forgiveness dissolves resentment, and grace dissolves hurt, we are transformed into those great souls that give life and awaken possibility in those around us!
