Celebrating the Women at Tango

In honor of International Women’s Day, we want to celebrate the three amazing women who represent Tango’s engineering team. Kristie Howard, Soumya Cherukupalli, and Judy Wong.

Kristie Howard

“Leave it better than you found it.” That’s Kristie’s motto. She doesn’t just leave the codebase better, but also every person that she collaborates with. She sets a high bar for excellence and brings others up with her.

Kristie brings experience from Docker and Anchorage as a prolific engineer, a strong leader, and an empathetic mentor.

In just two months at Tango, Kristie has already left a huge mark on our tech, on our team’s skill set, and on our culture — so much so that “leave it better” is now one of our company values.

It’s noticeable just how much everyone enjoys working with Kristie. Her enthusiasm and energy are contagious!

Soumya Cherukupalli

Soumya Cherukupalli is one of the most curious people that any of us has encountered. Over the course of her 7-month internship at Tango, it became obvious how motivated she is to take on challenges and master new skills. That mindset isn’t something you can teach.

As one of our earliest hires at Tango, Soumya made huge contributions to our product, specifically building out our backend and chrome extension. Working with Soumya every day and watching her grow always was a joy to watch — and a thrill! We all eagerly await for Soumya to finish her master’s degree in May so that we may continue our journey at Tango full-time!

Judy Wong

As a hybrid designer and frontend engineer, Judy Wong shows unique talent. An early hire, Judy contributed to the design or engineering on almost all of our products and deliverables from marketing materials to our Chrome extension — and everything in between.

Whether she challenges assumptions, improves a process, or goes the extra mile to create much-needed documentation, Judy exhibits a rare ownership mentality — one of her greatest assets (and Tango’s too!)

She’s on a path to master her craft!
