American automobile manufacturer Henry Ford once said that “Coming together is the beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” His statement seems to echo our experience in TaniFund, a peer-to-peer lending provider under agritech startup TaniGroup.

As a company striving to solve the problem of access to finance faced by farmers, we have seen how the public actively supports our mission, so that we will never walk alone in helping local farmers build their businesses.

As a result of your continuous support, TaniFund has been shortlisted in the “Inclusive Fintech 50”, a competition held by MetLife Foundation and Visa, with partners Accion and International Finance Corporation (IFC). The contest, launched in February, enables 50 early-stage fintech companies to attract capital and resources to benefit the world’s 3 billion financially underserved people.

We are proud to be among the 50 winners, which have been identified, assessed and selected from 400 applicants worldwide.

TaniFund and three other startups became the best four representing East Asia and the Pacific.

Marianne Mwaniki, Head of Social Impact at Visa, told FintechNewsSG: “Existing research indicates that investment capital has largely overlooked early-stage and inclusive fintechs in several markets,”

“This group of winners makes clear that there are high-potential startups with viable products and business models — and they’re ready for investment.”

Lutfia Aisya, Business Partner Lead at TaniFund, said the award becomes a “global recognition of our startup, which is still young”. She said the achievement is not an end goal, but rather a start and a push for TaniFund to continue reaching beyond the hopes of its stakeholders.

As Henry Ford said that working together is success, kindly accept our heartfelt gratitude for your support toward TaniFund as our joint achievement in reimagining Indonesia’s agriculture landscape.
