Tired of struggling to set up the rss feed widget on Wordpress?

Well, you’ve come to the right page! I’ll break it down in a few simple steps:

  1. Make sure you see this rss symbol before attempting to site any website.

2. If you use chrome as the default web browser, simply search for the extension: “Get the RSS Feed URL” and install it. The same symbol (but tiny) should pop up on the bookmarks bar.

  • In Chrome, there is this logo of 3 dots in a straight line. If you hover over it, a mini-window pops up next to your cursor with, “Customize and control google chrome.” Click on it. Find label for “more tools” and off to the side, another navigation bar should appear. Find the label for “extensions,” and click.
  • The image above should appear (without rss feed setting). On top of page, left of “search extensions” bar, click on “main menu.”
  • On the bottom of that bar should be label for “open chrome web store” and click. A new tab will open up titled, “Chrome Web Store”
  • In the search bar, type: “rss feed url.” Click on the little button to the right that reads, “Add to Chrome” and “add extension,” then the tiny rss logo will pop up on your bookmarks bar.

2.5. Go to any website that has the rss logo on it.

3. Click on the rss logo on your bookmarks bar and a tiny window will pop up asking which feed you want shown (see above)

4. If you want to RSS URL, click on the feed option. It will redirect you to the xml file. Press ctl+f and type “rss”

5. The rss feed comments is exactly the same option but it is coded for transferring comments from one site onto another.

6. Whichever search result shows: <link> or <href> is the following url you want to highlight and copy. DO NOT COPY FROM <url> because that is the thumbnail address.

7. Now you have the rss address. Put it in the rss feeds widget AND in the sidebar on your blog to get the newest feeds straight from your blog without having to navigate through the original site.

  • Insert copied url into “link text” box to the right
  • Save menu

AND/OR HERE:

  • Make sure the widget is the “feedzy rss feeds” because links do not work.
  • Plus, it’s more convenient to store all your followed sites & links en mass:
  • You can add this widget to either primary side bar or the footer.

Hope this helps! Good luck!
