A moment of mindfulness

On the old front porch,
There is a white, wooden swing—
Wide enough for two.

Paint is flaking off.
It’s suspended by strong ropes
That hold it in place.

Matching the house paint,
The cushions are blue and green;
Looks comfortable.

Let’s stop, be mindful,
And take a moment to pause
Before we sit down.
