GUIDELINES

Tanka Town shares original Tanka, Haiku, and Haibun poetry.

Please read this guide carefully for instructions on submitting your poetry to Tanka Town.

This guide is subject to change.

  • All work must adhere to Medium’s Rules and Curation Guidelines.
  • Work should be well-written with spelling and grammar checked prior to submission.
  • Poetry must be single-spaced.
  • For consistency, please capitalize the first letter of each word in the main title.
  • Only previously unpublished work will be shared.
  • Only one submission per person per day.
  • Poems should be tagged with poetry and either haiku or tanka or haibun before submitting.
  • Submissions should include a relevant image with the copyright owner of the image attributed. Writers must have permission to use the image.
  • An editor may leave a comment and/or recommend changes to submissions before accepting.
  • Editors also reserve the right to make changes to submissions.
  • Please allow several days for editors to review submissions.
