Tonight, the ache is more palpable than ever. All these years, and I still miss you. I find solace in writing to you, sharing the burden of my thoughts as I navigate the complexities of a life you aren’t here to share. You were always my confidante, my anchor. You still are.
Currently, the successes I experience with patients is all that sustains me, knowing I’m changing lives — in small ways and sometimes important ways. Other parts of my life seem to be falling apart.
It’s been difficult with Charlie. I’m so glad you had the chance to know him. You would still love him, as I do, even though our future looks bleak.
