As VR enthusiasts you’ve certainly heard of Oculus or Samsung Gear VR or Google VR.

VR is definitely the way forward and it isn’t just used in gaming any more. It has expanded its reach into automotive, medicine, aviation and even in treatment of mental health.

1. Kshitij Marwah

Startup: Tesseract Imaging
About the startup: VR and photography. New form of camera technology in smartphones with added features

Though he was at the bottom third of his class in IIT Delhi, Kshitij did not let that stop him. He was constantly innovating and experimenting.

He is also heading the MIT Media Lab India Initiative which ensures it is not the traditional methods of teaching; instead the focus is on anti-disciplinary learning, hands-on creation and design thinking.

2. Akash Jatangi

About the startup: Bringing VR to the automotive industry

Graduated from BITS Pilani with a Masters degree in Economics, Akash founded AutoVRse with Adarsh Muthappa, and Ashwin Jaishanker.

AutoVRse allows customers to explore and customize cars in real time. It was selected as one of the top 30 most innovative startups in TechSparks and was audience’s favourite startup.

3. Karthikeyan NG

With an MBA from Madurai Kamaraj University, Karthikeyan has worked in different companies in different roles, such as Assistant System Engineer in TCS to Technical Lead in Y Media Labs. He has finally settled on VR and is the Founder and CEO of GazeMatic.

4. Parth Choksi

Startup: Meraki
About the startup: India’s first VR Studios that produces VR content for corporates, real estate, weddings, tourism, sports, advertising, digital marketing, media and entertainment.

Graduated from IIT Bombay with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Parth is the Co Founder of Meraki Studios.

They have an impressive client list which includes names such as Star Sports, Network 18, Percept Pictures and Channel V.

5. Hemanth Satyanarayana

About the startup: Offers innovative AR & VR products and services

6. Shubham Mishra

Startup: Absentia VR

Absentia VR was founded in June 2015 by three BITS, Goa dropouts, Shubham Mishra, Vrushali Prasade and Harikrishna Valiyath. They started it to create something better than Oculus.

7. Abhishek Gupta

8. Vaishali Neotia

About the startup: Helps in visualizing any 3D model in VR and interact with it

With a degree from ISB and Stanford University, Vaishali has been a leader right from the beginning.

Merxius is yet to raise funds but it was added to the list of top 10 deep tech companies by IBM SmartCamp and was selected for Tata Elxsi incubation programme.
