TapChief Users can now contact Experts with a paid message and pay only if they receive a reply

The Paid Message feature is a way for professionals to monetize their inbox and for users to reach out to Experts for their time & expertise.

It was this iconic Twitter conversation between the then CEO of Uber, Travis Kalanick and Ryan Graves (who went on to handle Global Operations for startup) that laid the foundation of the cab hailing giant, Uber as we know it today.

Personal messages are tinder to the beginning of great partnerships, startup ideas, investment and to professional communication as a whole.

So how are we improving it and more importantly…

Why?

InMail, PMs and Email: The Problem with the conventional cold message

As I sit at my desk typing out this product release, I have over 83 messages in my LinkedIn inbox, another 25 Inmails and a number of unsolicited Emails sitting in my Gmail & DMs on Twitter that I haven’t bothered counting after the early 500s.

The point of this diatribe on my inbox is…

“The Personal Message is neither personal nor relevant to the modern professional anymore”

A majority of personal messages today are better categorised as spam that revolve around asking for career advice, sales pitches, pleas to like a facebook page and you know the rest. It’s safe to say, that personal messages today, do not value your time, expertise or the effort that goes into replying to them.

There’s an overriding need to bring back relevance, value and the magic of connecting via a personal message to professional communication.

TapChief Paid Messages: Bringing Relevance & Value back to Personal Messages

Since the launch of TapChief 2.0, the north star of TapChief, as a team and product, is towards enabling Experts to share and monetize their Expertise in a meaningful manner. Paid Messages is yet another step towards that same goal…

With the introduction of the paid messages, TapChief Users can message Experts for a fee. The Expert has a period of 72 hours to reply to the message or decline the message request.

“The amount paid by the user is refunded in case the Expert doesn’t reply to the message or declines it”

Once the Expert accepts the message request and replies to it, the requisite amount is deducted from the user wallet and the expert payout is reflected in the Expert wallet immediately.

Experts on TapChief can either keep their earnings or donate them towards a charitable cause of their liking from TapChief.

How can you leverage Paid Messages as a professional or a business?

Paid Messages on TapChief can be leveraged for a variety of use cases, most of them lie under the same umbrella of why you’d send a personal message to anyone in your professional network.
