Push-notification status updates with friends

Do you miss the good old days of Facebook? We sure do.

We remember using it to share simple status updates and see what close friends are up to.

The humble status update was a fun way to get things off your chest, have fun, and feel more connected to the people you care about.

Social networks have a changed a lot since then. What used to be a quick and simple update now involves more thought. Who will see this status update? When will they see it? Will it get any likes? Will I regret sharing it?

We created tapkast because we wanted a simpler way to share statuses. No links, no popularity contests, no digital history, no worries.

Here’s how it works:

When you have something to share, open tapkast right into the compose screen, type your status, add a photo if you want, then hit “share.”:

Friends following you get your status instantly on their lock screens as silent push notifications. The status itself fits in the notification, so your friends don’t even have to open the app to see what you’re up to.

If you both follow each other, friends can reply to your updates.

When you share something new, your previous status update and its replies vanish forever.

We’ve been testing tapkast with friends for a few weeks and it’s been a blast. Getting updates from friends and seeing them as they’re happening really makes you feel like you’re in the moment with them.

We’re super-exited that tapkast is now available for everyone to try out and hope you and your friends enjoy it as much as we do.

You can download tapkast free from the App Store.
