Taraxa Project

How is Taraxa different from other blockchains?

We get asked this a lot, so here’s a detailed explanation of the problem we’re solving, our tech and approach to building applications.

Purpose-built for audit logging of informal transactions.

In our hyper-connected world, individuals and businesses remain vulnerable to the confusion associated with off-chain data and informal daily agreements between buyers and sellers, lenders and borrowers, clients and contractors, companies and employees. At the same time, even with today’s abundance of messengers and collaboration suites, there’s still no handy way to keep track of everyday dealings that happen every day through talking, calling, and texting — from trivial pay-upon receipt services, or property relations to auto repairs, employment relations, or simply signing off on an invoice. In all these cases, both parties are left vulnerable to a sudden change of heart or other extenuating circumstances.

Faster and more secure layer-one network:

Taraxa is specifically built to track record those high-volume informal transactions to immutable audit logs. We’re using the next-gen DAG topology to enable fast logic processing, speculative execution, low-latency and true finality.

We’ve innovated further and made some improvements to DAG-topology to tackle ordering convergence and increase block efficiency. Read more in detail on how our parallel execution works here. To illustrate, here’s a comparison of some major network stats for Taraxa & Ethereum:

Applications and customers to-date:

We’ve been actively onboarding commercial partners in China and Japan to try out Marinate and Helio, our two flagship applications.

  • 2018: Signed a collaboration contract with the largest automaker in Japan to leverage audit logging of automotive data on Taraxa for shared rides and second-hand car sales.
  • March 2021: Signed a commercial collaboration with UniCask, a joint venture formed by Japan Import Systems, one of the largest spirits trading companies in Japan, to use HELIO, our hardware-software integrated solution, to build confidence in their spirits ownership tracking solution.

Watch this space to be in the loop of our latest partnerships, feature releases, and community-building campaigns!
