At the end of October we released our second monthly update, “Aphrogenes”, to our Taraxa testnet. I encourage you to read more about it. This week saw the completion of our first of two sprints to our next monthly testnet upgrade. In addition to fixing performance issues as they arise in our initial testnet releases, we have been working to cleanup bits of code that are proof-of-concept and replace them with robust implementations. This week we continued our final sprint before the next testnet update, which will see the introduction of our (PoW puzzle free), fair (inclusive protocol), and fast (DAG) block proposer scheme.

Efficient Block Proposal Scheme

  • Implemented proper VRF sortition for PBFT blocks proposal and completed code review
  • Debugged VDF library parameterization issue
  • Debugged VDF library null solution edge case
  • Integrated VDF proof into DAG block

Execution Layer

  • Initiated integration of replay protection service with PBFT concurrent schedule generation

Boostrapping and Node Syncing

  • Additional tests of DAG and PBFT syncing
  • Worked on implementation to prevent unsynced nodes from block proposal and gossiping

Stay tuned.
